It's common that you mix up words or double down on an incorrect word. Some recent Juneisms -
At school skate night - "what are those skates with just the one in the middle, like a mohawk?" You were describing in-lines skates/roller blades!
"Dad and I need to finish Mushroom." You were talking about the movie, "Dumplin".
After wathching Theater Bug's winter concert - "Mom was cracking nuts the whole time!" June you mean - cracking up. "No, you were cracking nuts!"
Finally - a piece of hair was bugging you because it wouldn't lay flat. You decided to cut, and then came downstairs in tears saying "something had happen with the brush."
