June Ryan -

You're 1 today! This time last year Maevy and Carter were in Memphis. I had woken up to some contractions and decided to not go into work. I took a bath and watched some Chef's Table. I love that show! We headed to the hospital and I made Daddy stop by Walgreen's for some mints. (Weird!) We arrived at 10ish and I told Daddy to go to the clinic entrance- which was wrong. Instead of getting back in the car, we walked through the tunnel to the hospital. Cut to 5 hours later - sweet, 8lb 13oz June bug arrived on May 31st, not June 1st - which was my plan!

You are crazy good at mimicking. Last night at dinner - Carter was whispering in your ear saying "if you eat all your dinner, you get to have your lovie." You would listen intently with a smile and then after he was done - you would try to whisper back. It was the cutest thing.

At bedtime - we've been working on pointing out the moon and the boat in our book. Mommy sings 3 songs, then we say "night-night". Then you say "nih- nih".

June - we're so thankful you came into our lives to complete our family. You've brought so much joy and play many roles - 

- the diffuser between older brother and older sister

- Mommy's shadow

- queen of the stink eye

- 1 going on 11 - everyone thinks you're over this whole baby thing

- bruiser, the cruiser - constantly getting back up, after a fall with no tears

- anti-snuggler, but good for a hand hold

I think you and Aunt Robs have a sandy blonde baby bond - or she just looks a lot like me. Many times over the weekend you went to Aunt Robyn or pulled at her leg like you do to me all the time. :)

I'm still hoping your locks turn a little curly!!

June's Fiesta 1st Birthday Party

Junie -

We had your 1st birthday at Grandma & Grandpa's and it was fiesta themed. We had a taco bar and margaritas for adults and a pinata, mexican jumping bean races and sombero cookies for the big kids.

You're getting 2 more teeth - so you've been a little whiny and not as hungry as usual. So - no crazy messy photos.

But -you did look crazy cute in your Mexican inspired dress.

Mother's Day 2017

I always get way too much stuff from school for Mother's Day -

You gave me a potted flower plant and this cute piece of art with your finger prints.

We spent the weekend outside and went strawberry picking. It was our 8th year, but your 1st year. You played the role of Sal (from Blueberried for Sal) and ate strawberries from Daddy's bucket while he searched and picked. Yum!
