Happy 8th Month Birthday! So sorry- but you're sick again!

I called emergency-Grandparent reinforcements - because you couldn't go to the school and we had a day of doctor's appointments with your brother. You seemed mostly fine with Grandma and Grandpa - but the next day not so fine. It seems to just be a nasty virus - but doc did give you a steroid. So I'm hoping you are back to your less snotty, more playful self by this weekend.

Schedule -
The only big update this month - is we both mutually phased out the middle of the night nursing session. You were basically just sleep crying...so I just upped your bedtime bottle to 8oz and you seem just fine - well until you got sick.



A normal, healthy school day - this is your schedule
6ish - wake up
7:15ish- drop off at school
8ish- breakfast - muffin, cottage cheese, banana - something like this
Morning nap - 30ish minutes
9ish - wake up- 6oz bottle
11ish - lunch time - usually it's dinner leftovers
Noonish - nap - (at home you'll sleep for an hour or more)
1ish - 6oz bottle
2ish - snack
3ish - 6oz bottle
4ish - afternoon nap (30 minutes)
5 -  Mommy picks you and brother and sister up!
6- Dinner, bath, and 8oz bedtime bottle

Food update-
I have no idea if there are rules I'm supposed to be following - but basically you eat whatever we eat. When you're healthy, you seem to love it all.
Spinach - loved it
Pork chop- loved it
Steak - loved it
Fish - loved it
Peppers - sure, loved it!
Really you like things with flavor/seasoning. A plain avocado - pass.

Teeth Update-
Adding to your sickness/pain, you're also getting 4 teeth, including your 2 top ones. They have broken through and I'm sure they are going to be super cute. :)

Crawling Update-
You are going everywhere now and can move pretty fast.You are also pulling up on everything - much to the chagrin of your brother. Every morning - he yells that you hovering over his breakfast and are going to eat his waffle. (the dangers of eating on a white table, on the floor, in the living room)

While the big kids were at Legofest with Daddy, Mommy took you to the Women's March in Nashville. It was beautiful day for numerous reasons. Maevy made our sign the night before and you got lots of comments - especially from Grandmas and older ladies that told us - that they hoped it was your first of many or that their first march was in the 1960s. It was also your first time in the ergo backpack. I think you liked it and grabbed lots of strangers while Mommy was walking through the crowd. :)

Finally sick

Well it took 7 months, but you finally got sick and it was a doozy -


Sick day 1

Over 2 weeks, we ended up taking you the doctor 3 times -
1st time - ears were not infected, thought it fever/loss of appetite was just a virus
2nd time - virus turned into a double ear infection, got amoxicillin
3rd time - you still weren't eating well and had developed a rash - Dr thought it was still viral, just stay the course

 Sick day 4

You got to stay home a couple times with Mommy and Daddy...and finally 2 weeks later - you seem back to your normal self, eating like a toddler, not a baby! You are so over the baby food - we just give you whatever we're eating. Last night - steak salad. Yum!
